Short Personal Story

"It was cool getting into Harvard. I would have preferred if it took less work, but nonetheless it was pretty cool.

It was pretty interesting getting in honestly. It was amazing getting in, but the feeling associated with it was such a letdown. I had worked my face off for these past three years and gave up everything for this school and I wasn't really sure if it was worth it or not.

I get that I would have a better future and be put in a much better place to have the life that I want, but was it really worth sacrificing friends, a social life, emotional health, and physical health? I couldn't really answer that and to this day I still can't. I don't know. It was a great moment, but that thought of 'was it all worth it' still plays out in my head from time to time.

Overall though, it was pretty cool. I'd probably do it again, but would prefer not to."

Useful Advice "Honestly, I think the only way to really get in is to have ridiculous work ethic and sacrifice pretty much everything for it. I remember so many nights when my friends went out to party where I chose to stay in and study a little bit more. I remember countless other nights when I stayed up till 5AM studying for a test so that I could eek out that extra 1 or 2% and get an A+ instead of an A. If you're ready to do that, then you've got a good shot of getting in. If not, sorry, you don't.

The only real secret to getting into any of the Ivys is really really hard work. That's it."
