Personal Story

"I couldn't believe it when I got into Cornell. It was absolutely insane!

My parents never finished college and as a result, I didn't come from the most affluent of origins. And growing up , they would always remind me of the importance of making it into college and even though we weren't the most affluent family, they started a college fund for me to help me have a better life than them.

Getting into College was a big deal, but getting into Cornell, that was a dream come true."

Useful Advice

"I had so much help in high school I don't even know where to start. I got so much tutoring from peer groups at my school and had so much coaching from teachers and older students who mentored me through pretty much everything.

If there's anything I would give as advice, I'd say that getting mentorship is critical to success in anything. Just as athletes have coaching, I believe that students should as well."
